Value Engineering Soundproofing Wall Composites and Isolation Clips.

Soundproofing interior walls with  boards from acuphon's system and acoustic panel range. Choose from the acuphon's acoustic panel systems, soundproofing panels will increase the sound damping of your walls to block unwanted noise from conversation and TV. The best wall soundproofing method is a combination of sound insulation products to increase both separation and mass of your walls. Acoustic insulation, PhonoClip® + resilient bars / furring bars with either a soundproof plasterboard or for added mass, our Phonoboard® and a further heavy mass barrier layer, Phonoshield® Visco will reduce high levels of airborne and impact sounds through your walls, PhonoWall®22 or PhonoBoard®. Combining acuphon's wall soundproofing materials, with the addition of surface panels to absorb sound energy this will reduce higher levels of airborne and impact sounds through walls whilst controlling reflective noise in any given space.

    Is Soundproofing walls effective?

A questions we often gets asked "does soundproofing a wall really work". The answer, well, soundproofing an existing wall is a common situation our customers face. The same customers face issues with noise that include, noisy neighbours with noise coming through a party wall between adjoining houses, or wanting to reduce noise through the wall in an apartment or flat. All this noise is airborne. The best way to soundproof your wall is to add mass into the wall in addition to a separation of the new wall. So to answer the question yes, our PhonoWall® 27 Max or PhonoWall® 21 help dramatically reduce the noise from passing by adding mass in addition to a resilient layer to work as de-coupler. Ultimately cost pays a large factor, that's why these two composite acoustic wall products are an easy DIY solution as they're a direct to wall soundproofing panel solution. On the other-hand, some people prefer to use a sound isolation clip system such as the PhonoClip® which are designed to allow a decoupling separation between the existing wall or stud to the final finish (typically plasterboard and skim).
