Description

PhonoWall® acoustic wall panels deliver high-performance sound control for residential and commercial projects: PhonoWall® 24 combines acoustic-rated plasterboard with a heavy mass layer and resilient PE foam interlayer for effective mid–high frequency noise reduction; PhonoWall® 27 Pro adds a second mass layer, separated by the same resilient core, to improve overall acoustic performance and boost low-frequency (bass) attenuation; and PhonoWall® 27 FD60 Max provides the same advanced acoustic build-up as the 27 Pro but with fire-rated plasterboard to achieve FD60 for compliant commercial installations.

PhonoWall® space-saving acoustic wall panels fix directly to existing walls with 80 mm hammer-in fixings, no timber battens, no resilient bars, so you maximise usable floor area, achieve a slim, low-profile finish that’s perfect for refurbishments and tight spaces, and can decorate immediately, making it an ideal solution for soundproofing existing properties and new builds with lightweight blockwork.

Suitable for refurbishing existing masonry walls and upgrading them to effective partition or separating walls between dwellings, PhonoWall® is an easy-to-fit, slimline acoustic solution for domestic and commercial projects that need better sound insulation without sacrificing floor space, and it is designed to help meet the requirements of Approved Document E (Part E) of the Building Regulations.

  • What are the differences between the PhonoWall® range?

The key differences between PhonoWall® 21 compared to PhonoWall® 27 Max is the number of barrier layers and the grade of plasterboard being used. The 27 is commercial standard incorporating a fire rated plasterboard, whereas the 21 uses a standard domestic rated acoustic plasterboard.

  • What else do I need with PhonoWall®?

You will require M6 Hammer Screws, acoustic sealant and scrim tape for the joints.

  • Can I paint over the PhonoWall®?

Yes. You can paint  straight over the PhonoWall® without any requirement of additional layers. Similiarily you can apply wall paper straight overtop.

  • Can I glue it to the wall?

No. PhonoWall® 24 and 30 Max are heavy products which require adequate fixing, we would only advise installation using M6 hammer screws.
