ACOUSTIC MEMBRANE FOR WALLS
PhonoShield® B2 is a plain or self adhesive backed barrier membrane. Floor, wall and ceiling sound blocker.
Ideal for medium-loud airborne noise - Adds mass, foam, metal or plasterboard sandwich layer.
Description
PhonoShield® B2 is a flexible, high density, high performing mineral based barrier membrane designed to reduce airborne and impact noise. PhonoShield® B2 has excellent acoustic insulation characteristics and is suited to many construction elements. PhonoShield® B2 can have its own built-in self adhesive layer enabling it to be applied direct onto most construction surfaces. The membrane should be mechanically fixed. With its ‘low tack’ surface this means it does not stick together even in warmer conditions. Rated B-s2-d0 in accordance with BS EN 13501-1:2018. Working as an excellent 'pre-plasterboard' acoustic barrier layer that has anti-resonant and excellent sound deadening properties. It's easy to install characteristics also allow the product to be used in a wide array of industrial applications ranging from soundproofing booths to the insulation of machine rooms, noise dampening in drainpipes and acoustic dampening and helps the 'deadening' of vibration metal structures.
"Sound deadening acoustic barrier membrane"
PhonoShield® B2 is perfect for soundproofing. It's effectiveness for noise control is because of its high mass properties and for this reason it's great at reducing airborne noise. To achieve the best possible solution on a soundproofing project you will need to incorporate PhonoShield® B2 as an intermediate layer on any build, albeit part of a floor, wall of roofing treatment. It offers ways of increasing acoustic performance to any build, for example, by fitting them alongside acoustic cradles to create a fully floating floor, by adding them to joist structures alongside further sound insulation for great improvement on airborne and impact noise, the use in concrete buildings as a standalone for impact reduction or by simply adding it to a metal roof to dampen rainfall noise.
Manufactured sustainably in the UK and uses over 50% recycled thermo-plastic in the composition of the acoustic barrier. It is a low tack PVC/Chloride Free, low odour, low VOC and is 100% recyclable.
This high mass visco-elastic membrane is a single ply material and one that is used between plasterboard layers offering exemplary sound transmission performance or it can be used to directly apply to metalwork dampening acoustic vibration.
